Kitimat-Kitamaat Tsunami Model and Risk Assessment

The District of Kitimat, in partnership with the Haisla First Nation, retained Ocean Networks Canada Society and PSG Ocean to collaboratively undertake a tsunami risk assessment for the communities and broader region.

The District of Kitimat, in partnership with the Haisla First Nations, contracted Ocean Networks Canada Society as prime consultant with PSG Ocean as sub-consultant to undertake a tsunami risk assessment for the region. As professional or record, PSG Ocean is responsible for providing oversight for digital elevation model development, reviewing modelling work, defining hazard mapping requirements and reviewing maps, as well as undertaking qualitative risk assessment focused on exposure identification.
