PSG Ocean was retained by a private owner to deliver a flood hazard assessment in support of regulatory approvals for the subdivision of an oceanfront property along the Juan de Fuca Strait within the Capital Regional District.

PSG Ocean conducted a coastal flood hazard assessment to support the subdivision of an oceanfront property located in the community of Otter Point within the Capital Regional District, an area exposed to high tsunami hazard.

The scope of work included:

  • Assessment of coastal flood hazards, including tsunami exposure
  • Definition of flood construction levels and floodplain setbacks as mitigation measures
  • Preparation of a technical report to support subdivision approval

The assessment report was accepted by the Ministry of Transportation and Transit, supporting approval of the subdivision application. An independent review of the assessment was carried out by Kerr Wood Leidal.
