Natural Resources Canada, in collaboration with Ebbwater Consulting, PSG Ocean, and Concordia University, is advancing the development of a regional-scale, nationally consistent framework for flood hazard mapping.

Regional Scale Flood Hazard Modelling and Mapping for the Isthmus of Chignecto

Natural Resources Canada retained Ebbwater Consulting as prime consultant, with PSG Ocean and Concordia University as subconsultants, to support the development of a regional-scale, nationally consistent framework for flood hazard modelling and mapping.

As coastal specialist on the project team, PSG Ocean is responsible for:

  • Reviewing relevant Canadian and international methodologies, guidelines, and tools for coastal flood hazard modelling and mapping
  • Providing coastal modelling inputs to support the development of regional-scale inundation maps
  • Modelling extreme water level events affecting the Isthmus of Chignecto, located at the head of the Bay of Fundy
  • Supporting the integration of coastal and fluvial processes through coupling with hydraulic river modelling conducted by the project team
